About Us
Greening Africa Green (GAG) is a registered non-profit organization that unites community-based organizations (CBOs) across Kenya, operating in Tana River, Lamu, Kiambu, and Nakuru counties. Our mission is to address key development issues through poverty alleviation, improving food security in Kenya, and environmental conservation. Through training, knowledge sharing, and resource mobilization, GAG empowers communities to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We foster community empowerment by driving cooperation and collective action for long-term sustainable growth at the grassroots level.

Alleviate Poverty
GAG works closely with local communities in Kenya to reduce and eradicate poverty by:
- Offering Train the Trainer programs focused on entrepreneurship, job creation, and vocational training.
- Identifying and empowering promising men and women with skills to mentor new entrepreneurs and foster economic development in Kenya.
- Providing tools and strategies to help communities lobby for financial support from both county and national governments for their projects.
- Encouraging the use of local resources, particularly in sustainable agriculture, to boost economic self-sufficiency and foster long-term development.
Improve Food Security
To enhance food security in Kenya and promote sustainable agriculture, GAG will:
- Train farmers on sustainable agriculture practices, helping them improve productivity, food storage, and reduce waste.
- Equip communities with advocacy skills to engage in policy discussions and support favorable agricultural policies for better access to resources.
- Form local cooperatives or organized groups that provide farmers with financial and managerial support, enabling them to diversify into value-added production and small-scale manufacturing.
Environmental Conservation
Recognizing the importance of environmental conservation and climate change adaptation, GAG is committed to:
- Raising awareness of climate change’s impact on livelihoods and educating communities about forest conservation, land degradation prevention, and biodiversity protection.
- Promoting the adoption of renewable energy in Kenya, supporting the transition to clean energy technologies for households and businesses.
- Organizing workshops that highlight the importance of sustainable land management to protect ecosystems and ensure future resilience.
- Supporting community-led reforestation and afforestation projects to restore degraded lands and improve ecological health.
- Partnering with organizations to initiate marine conservation projects that aim to protect and restore marine ecosystems along Kenya’s coastlines.
